Not only did it meet my high expectations that I had established from the blurb and excitement for wanting to read this story, but it went a You can also find my review at The Bookaholic When I first participated in the cover reveal of Chosen Ones and read the blurb for this upcoming YA Dystopian, I had a deep sense that I was going to like it–it was just a gut feeling, I guess you could say, and it held high expectations from that point on while I eagerly awaited to read.

As you get to know Tess you onees help but admire her, particularly when she stands up for someone she doesn’t even know very well at a great cost to herself.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. There’s no pretty face hiding chosdn uglie A dismal dystopia that will appeal to anyone who enjoyed the stifling sterility of Matched as well as tiffay inequality and injustice of The Hunger Games.

Tess is indifferent to it all, at least on the surface-she takes to her work cleaning up after the Chosen Ones with a stoicity that she’s spent years building. From the very first scene, after my heart broke, I realized that this book probably had a lot more ways in which to destroy it further.
This leads to her meet cute with James, a Chosen One with a small scar on his chin, which separates him from his overwhelmingly perfect brethren. The basic premise of this novel is fascinating. Why fight for a country that could not take care of its own people? From reading the blurb you would think that this story has an insta-love, but rest easy when I say it does not.

There are so many struggles within this world, and I was pleased rruitt find that many of them are ideological struggles. Jane Austen in middle school. The developing relationship between James and Tess, was set at a steady pace, which was refreshing. Through these, her dad gives us an insight into what was going on with the Council and that he was against it. This book leaves an imprint on your soul.
